Warehouse Equipment Operator, 1st shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Warehouse Equipment Operator to join our team on our 1st shift. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of warehouse equipment—including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes—to efficiently handle materials, manage inventory, and support warehouse distribution operations. Your expertise will ensure smooth shipping and receiving processes while maintaining the highest safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks and cranes, in accordance with OSHA and safety standards.
  • Load and unload shipments safely using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Pick and prepare orders accurately using barcode scanning technology and order picker equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels within the warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring precise stock counts and proper storage.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs or coordinate maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation.
  • Follow warehouse safety protocols during all manual handling activities and heavy lifting tasks.
  • Support shipping and receiving functions by verifying shipment contents, documentation accuracy, and proper storage procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating warehouse material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with proper technique.
  • Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation purposes.
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment repairs or troubleshooting issues with lift trucks or other machinery.
  • Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations or warehouse distribution is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.

Pay: $21.00 per hour
