Certified Medical Coder - Remote - Temp to Hire

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder to join our team in a fully remote, temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for reviewing medical claims, analyzing reimbursement determinations, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and payer regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review medical claims and reimbursement determinations for accuracy.
• Analyze denials, underpayments, recoupments, and claim adjustments.
• Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and payer guidelines.
• Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier coding accurately.
• Research and resolve reimbursement discrepancies.
• Prepare payment determination documentation and correspondence.
• Identify revenue recovery opportunities and reimbursement trends.
• Maintain compliance with coding standards and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex claims issues.

Qualifications Required:

• Current CPC or CCS certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• 3+ years of medical coding and reimbursement review experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• ICD-10-CM
• CPT
• HCPCS
• CPT Modifiers
• Healthcare reimbursement methodologies
• Experience interpreting EOBs, claim adjustments, underpayments, and recoupments.
• Excellent analytical, written communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Revenue Cycle Management experience including claims, denials, appeals, and payment posting.
• Knowledge of the No Surprises Act and reimbursement regulations.

Pay: $21.42 per hour
