Pharmacist - Drug Safety Evaluator

The US Food and Drug Administration's Office of Surveillance and Epidemiology-Division of Pharmacovigilance (DPV) is recruiting for pharmacists for the position of Safety Evaluator at our beautiful campus in Silver Spring, MD. This position requires a regular onsite presence (50% hybrid) in Silver Spring. Successful candidates will join a multi-disciplinary team of Pharmacists and Physicians responsible for the surveillance of adverse events associated with drugs and biologics which are regulated by FDA. Pharmacists review, evaluate, interpret, analyze, and abstract pertinent information from adverse drug reaction reports in the FDA Adverse Event Monitoring System (AEMS- formerly known as FAERS) and other sources. This evaluation requires the utilization of the incumbent’s medical-scientific judgment in determining the adequacy of clinical documentation, the severity of the adverse reaction, and the possible causal relationship between specific therapeutic agents and the adverse reaction.

Successful applicants will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, current licensure in any US state, and completion of an ASHP accredited PGY2 residency, or the equivalent of relevant clinical practice experience. Candidates with professional experience and training in following areas of pharmacotherapy are preferred: oncology, psychiatry, infectious disease, internal medicine and ambulatory care.
