Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment to support our operational needs. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and precision, ensuring smooth and safe handling of freight, materials, and equipment across our facilities. Experience with forklift operation, commercial driving, and heavy equipment is highly desirable. The Equipment Operator plays a vital role in maintaining productivity and safety standards within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, heavy machinery, and other equipment safely and efficiently to move freight, materials, and supplies.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety compliance.
• Assist with the transportation of goods within the facility or between locations using commercial driving skills when necessary.
• Support automotive repair tasks as needed, including basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on machinery or vehicles.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Document operational activities accurately and report any issues or damages promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or similar machinery in a commercial setting.
• Valid certification for forklift operation is preferred; commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of automotive repair or mechanical troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Ability to operate freight handling equipment safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as required.
• Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or automotive repair is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

• Forklift Operator Certification? (required)
