Experienced Pet Groomer

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Experienced Pet Groomer to join our dynamic team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for providing top-quality grooming services that enhance the health, hygiene, and appearance of a variety of animals, primarily dogs. Your expertise will ensure each pet feels comfortable and cared for throughout the grooming process.

Duties

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing for dogs and other small animals
• Handle animals with care using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety and comfort during grooming procedures
• Assess each pet’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming methods
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet care needs
• Assist with basic dog training techniques to help pets stay calm and cooperative during grooming sessions
• Support veterinary staff by handling animal restraint during medical examinations or treatments when necessary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pet groomer with a strong portfolio of grooming styles and techniques
• Knowledge of animal handling, restraint, and safety protocols across various breeds and sizes
• Familiarity with veterinary procedures, veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to lift or move animals safely
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
• Experience in dog training, veterinary experience, or equine experience is advantageous
• Passion for animal care combined with excellent animal handling skills to ensure pets’ well-being throughout the grooming process
