<h2>About the role</h2><p>We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on finance and operations leader to join our Executive Leadership team as Director of Finance & Corporate Services. This role is ideal for someone who has helped build and scale a startup or high-growth organisation and is excited by the challenge of creating structure, systems, and clarity in a fast-evolving environment.</p><p>Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead the organisation’s financial strategy, operational infrastructure, and governance as we continue to scale internationally. You will operate as a strategic partner to leadership while remaining close to execution — building processes, improving visibility, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the company is positioned for sustainable growth.</p><p>This is a broad and high-impact role spanning finance, analytics, legal, people operations, and administration. We are looking for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with execution and who has experience operating at a Director or VP level in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.</p><h2>What you’ll do</h2><p><strong>Shape our financial strategy and performance</strong></p><ul><li><p>Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.</p></li><li><p>Create and manage a multi-year roadmap for building our financial infrastructure.</p></li><li><p>Advise the executive team and board on performance, risks, and the impact of strategic decisions.</p></li><li><p>Build clear KPI frameworks, dashboards, tools, and processes to improve unit economics.</p></li><li><p>Oversee accounting, cash flow, and compliance.</p></li><li><p>Strengthen financial processes, internal controls, and reporting standards.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Ensure strong governance, compliance, and risk management</strong></p><ul><li><p>Oversee legal, tax, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.</p></li><li><p>Manage external counsel, auditors, and key partners.</p></li><li><p>Structure and negotiate critical contracts and vendor agreements.</p></li><li><p>Anticipate and mitigate financial, operational, and data risks.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Act as a trusted partner to investors and key stakeholders</strong></p><ul><li><p>Support board reporting and investor communications.</p></li><li><p>Support due diligence and strategic transactions.</p></li><li><p>Build strong relationships with investors, banks, auditors, and regulators.</p></li><li><p>Ensure transparency, credibility, and high-quality financial disclosures.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate cross-functionally with other senior leaders to drive organisational success.</p></li><li><p>Bring financial and operational insights to the executive leadership team to inform strategic plan and key decisions.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Strengthen and scale our internal operations</strong></p><ul><li><p>Oversee people operations, payroll, and core policies.</p></li><li><p>Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organisational design.</p></li><li><p>Improve systems, tools, and administrative processes.</p></li><li><p>Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.</p></li></ul><h2>What success looks like</h2><p><strong>In your first month</strong>, you’ll build a deep understanding of our business model, financial health, and current systems. You’ll form strong relationships with the leadership team and assess where we stand across finance, legal, and administration.</p><p><strong>Within three months</strong>, you’ll present a clear roadmap for improvement, deliver early high-impact wins, and bring greater clarity to our financial and operational performance.</p><p><strong>Within six months</strong>, key initiatives from your roadmap will be underway and already driving measurable results.</p><h2>What we value for this role</h2><p><strong>Experience & background</strong></p><ul><li><p>8-10+ years in senior finance roles in a high-growth or scaling environment.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in financial modeling, planning, analytics, and executive-level decision support.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of corporate finance and an understanding of accounting frameworks and financial reporting standards.</p></li><li><p>Exposure to legal, compliance, and people operations.</p></li><li><p>Experience in international or multi-entity environments.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-changing environment.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of carbon markets is a plus.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Skills and mindset</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strategic thinker with strong analytical depth.</p></li><li><p>Bias for action: rolling up sleeves to get things done, driving initiatives forward, and delivering tangible results.</p></li><li><p>Clear communicator with executive presence and credibility.</p></li><li><p>Able to balance structure and agility and to lead teams and collaborate across departments.</p></li><li><p>Strong leadership skills and proven ability to develop talent.</p></li><li><p>High integrity, sound judgment, and an impact-driven mindset.
