Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms with accuracy and professionalism
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments across various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and surgical units
  • Collect specimens for laboratory testing and prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures like X-ray when applicable
  • Administer medications and injections following established protocols while maintaining patient safety standards
  • Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, ICD coding, medication administration records, and treatment notes
  • Support medical procedures in inpatient settings such as the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics clinics, or OR environments with proper sterilization and equipment handling
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs regularly during outpatient visits or hospital stays; report any abnormalities promptly to the healthcare team
  • Assist with medical documentation related to ICD coding for billing purposes; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, offering reassurance, and facilitating smooth check-in/check-out processes
  • Support emergency medicine teams in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers by preparing supplies and assisting with urgent procedures as needed

Experience

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; prior experience in dermatology or hospital medicine is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital environments including inpatient units such as Geriatrics or PICU
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, ICD coding practices, and medication administration protocols
  • Experience supporting urgent care or emergency medicine teams within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential for ensuring patient safety during clinical interventions
  • Previous roles involving medical-surgical care or internal medicine will be considered a strong asset
