The Role</h2><p>As a <strong>Backend & Integration Engineer</strong>, you will work at the intersection of AI, backend systems, and enterprise integration, enabling intelligent agents and platforms to interact with real-world business systems in a reliable, scalable way.</p><p>You will collaborate in a highly cross-functional, international environment, working closely with AI and Data Engineers to will:</p><ul><li><p><strong>Design and implement scalable integrations </strong>(APIs, services, MCP interface<strong>s) that expose internal and external systems as reusable skills for AI agents</strong></p></li><li><p>Collaborate on the development and optimisation of the <strong>execution layer</strong>, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable agent-driven actions</p></li><li><p><strong>Integrate the AI platform with business systems</strong> such as GIS data sources, valuation tools, and other enterprise applications</p></li><li><p><strong>Build and maintain clean, well-documented APIs and backend service</strong>s supporting modular and reusable architectures</p></li><li><p>Ensure integrations are<strong> robust, observable, and performant,</strong> with appropriate monitoring and error handling</p></li><li><p><strong>Work closely with AI and Data Engineers </strong>within a shared backlog, contributing to full end-to-end with <strong>backend development and system integration</strong>, building robust and scalable services</p></li><li><p>Proven hands-on experience with <strong>Azure environments</strong>, including integration with <strong>Databricks</strong></p></li><li><p>Solid background in <strong>API and backend development</strong>, including:</p><ul><li><p>RESTful APIs</p></li><li><p>Event-driven architectures</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Strong <strong>Python</strong> programming skills for building services, integrations, and automation</p></li><li><p>Experience integrating <strong>enterprise systems</strong> using internal and external APIs</p></li><li><p>Good understanding of <strong>distributed systems fundamentals</strong>, including:</p><ul><li><p>Asynchronous processing</p></li><li><p>Queues and messaging</p></li><li><p>Scalable architectures</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Familiarity with <strong>DevOps principles</strong> and <strong>Infrastructure as Code</strong>, including <strong>Terraform</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve system and integration issues efficiently</p></li><li><p>Ability
